Facebook has gone down across the world.

The problem appears to have affected users across Europe, the US and Asia, according to Down Detector.

Visitors to the Facebook site are met with a statement which says: ‘Sorry, something went wrong.

‘We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.’

The problem was focused on central Europe and Japan, although people in the US also claimed to be affected.

It started at about 8am British time and is still ongoing at the time of writing.

On Down Detector, people vented their rage about the outage.

‘Down here in Philippines… i dont know what to do now help me,’ one person wrote on the website.

‘Millenials are panicking,’ another wrote.

Other people tried to combat Facebook withdrawal by venting spleen on Twitter.

Facebook rarely suffers an outage, so any flop is always met with rage and consternation.

Today’s problems appear to have affected the web version of Facebook, which is particularly bad news for anyone looking to wile away their working day looking at pictures of their friends’ suspiciously perfect lives.
