Snapchat boss Evan Speigel has ruled out reversing controversial changes to the app made in a recent upgrade.

Last week, we exclusively revealed Snapchat’s plans to roll out the new upgrade to the UK.

Then we covered the psychological Armageddon wrought upon the psyches of the British people who struggled to cope with the epochal alterations made to their favourite app.

One million people have now signed a petition calling for the changes to be reversed.

Snapchatters were particularly aggrieved by a change which required them to swipe right to see friends’ stories and snaps, instead of having to swipe left.

One person said they felt ‘attacked’ by the Snapchat update, whilst another said it had such a profound effect on her that she was struggling not to ‘vom’ all over her smartphone.

Now Evan Spiegel has slapped down anyone who was hoping their pain and misery would be brought to an end.

Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Internet and Technology Conference, he said people would get used to the changes.

‘You do need folks to use the product, to communicate with their friends to learn how to better provide that feed,’ he said, according to Tech Crunch.

‘Even the complaints we’re seeing reinforce the philosophy. Even the frustrations we’re seeing really validate those changes. It’ll take time for people to adjust, but for me using it for a couple months I feel way more attached to the service.’
