The Loose Women panellist confessed that since she hit her forties, her metabolism has dramatically slowed down, which has caused problems for her waistline due to her ravenous appetite.

Im 30 pounds heavier than before I had children, Penny, who has sons Aiden, seven, and Alastair, 12, revealed on the ITV show on Friday.

When I was at school, I was bullied about being tall and skinny so I used to wear three pairs of tights to make my legs look fatter.

And I used to gorge. I used to eat the packed lunch she made me, then I used to use my pocket money for school lunch. I used to eat as much as I could so I could get fat.

But that all changed for Penny as she got older, she added, When I hit 40ish the pounds started going on. I have a ravenous appetite I cant stop eating.

When the kids were eating I would go “Oh, are you finished darling?” and have a bit of that [their food].

I was still in this habit of eating and now Im piling on the pounds and Im finding it very difficult to shed them.

But there is a special someone who helps the 61 former model to feel her best, her husband, Sir Rod Stewart.

If he saw I was getting distressed, Rod would say “I love you just the way you are, if its upsetting you why dont we go for a run?” He will be helpful to make me feel better about myself.

On an episode of Loose Women last year, Penny admitted that shes proud to wear size 14-16 clothing.

Im proud of wearing a 14-16, sizes dont bother me. Im not going to lie about it. I prefer to buy a size bigger, then I look small for the clothes.
