A woman chased her dad around the house with a hammer after getting into an argument with him.
Moya Brown, 43, hit her father over the head with the weapon when she caught up with him in the conservatory in South Back Lane, Bridlington.
She had got into an argument with her parents after returning home drunk at 6.10pm, on June 3.
Brown was staying with them after being released from prison on May 30, Hull Crown Court heard.
Her father told to leave after he saw what state she was in but she refused so he called the police.
Phillip Evans, prosecuting, said: The defendant repeated her earlier point of view about it being her parents fault she found herself in her current situation, and it came about that she had now taken possession of the hammer.
Coming toward Mr Brown with the hammer in her left hand, she hit him hard to the head with the hammer, striking him a blow to his right temple.

Mr Brown ran to the conservatory and the defendant followed, flailing her arms at him.
He punched her in self-defence, grabbed hold of her and tried to pin her up against a wall to restrain her.
Brown followed her dad into the kitchen where he was trying to continue his call to police and then grabbed two knives.
She told him to come on then while brandishing the blades.
She then turned the knives towards her own throat and also unsuccessfully attempted to cut her wrists, the court heard.
Police found Brown near the house, still holding the knives and a bottle of wine.
