Many of us knock back a celebratory pint when were at the airport waiting to jet-off on holiday.
And when we board the plane, were also quick to grab a G&T or wine to help us unwind during the journey.
But while these rituals can help to make the journey less painful, theres a reason why you shouldnt drink alcohol while travelling.
Nazan Schnapp, a skincare expert, spoke to Express about in-flight beverages.
He advised holidaymakers to “avoid booze and drink lots of water”.
Following this advise reduces the risk of dehydration when youre on board.
As well as this, it prevents your skin from drying out and your lips chapping.
By glugging lots of water instead of alcohol tipples, youre also more likely to arrive at your destination feeling refreshed.
Schnapp added: “We hear it all the time, but this really is the best skincare tip in the book.
“Our skin is the largest organ of our body and is made up of 64 per cent water, so you need to keep your skin hydrated during your flight to ensure you are looking and feeling refreshed and hydrated.
“Prolonged exposure onboard planes can lead to intense dehydration so its vital to take care of your skin pre, during and post flight.”
To prevent dehydration when youre on board, always carry a bottle of water with you.
