Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after he tried to stab an officer in the stomach in Clapham, south London.
He was spoken to by officers after they were called to a disturbance in Lynette Avenue shortly after 9pm on Tuesday, and then attempted to leave the scene as discussions went on outside.
When a female officer tried to prevent him from getting away, he produced two knives and attempted to stab her in the stomach at least twice.
Despite the attack, Scotland Yard said she was able to calmly draw her Taser and discharge it before pursing the suspect alongside her colleagues.
The 35-year-old man was arrested at nearby Clapham Common on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and a public order offence.

Police say the suspect remains in custody at a south London police station, as work continues to locate the knives, which are thought to have been discarded somewhere between Lynette Avenue and the scene of the arrest.
The officer who was attacked did not require hospital treatment, but police said the incident "could have easily had devastating consequences".
