One man has reportedly been killed and another two individuals have been injured in a knife attack in Dundalk, Ireland, according to reports.

The Irish Timesreports that a man has died following a stabbing incident in Dundalk, Co. Louth, in Ireland at 9 am Wednesday morning. Three crime scenes on Avenue Road, Inner Relief Road, and Seatown in the town have been sealed off as Irish Gardaí investigate the incidents.

A Garda spokesman said in a statement: “One man has been arrested and is currently detained in Dundalk Garda Station. No further details are available at present. A man has been pronounced dead at the scene.”

3News Ireland Crime and Court News Correspondent Sarah O’Connor reported via Twitter that the victim was a 24-year-old Japanese man. According to O’Connor, Gardaí are investigating whether or not the attacks are terror-related.

Early reports stated the attacker was a Syrian migrant, but the 18-year-old suspect is now reported to be of Egyptian origin.
