It seems former Spice Girl Geri Horner has officially ruled out starring in Strictly Come Dancing.
The singer, 45, said she enjoys dancing and loves the glitzy outfits, but definitely wouldn’t go on the hit show, given how difficult she found picking up dance routines during her time in the Spice Girls.
Reflecting on her time in the hit band, Horner confessed that learning dance routines was “very full-on”.
However, speaking to the Radio Times about the TV shows she likes to watch, Horner confessed that she is partial to a weekend watch of the BBC show – even if she’d rather not go on it.
“I watch Take Me Out and Strictly. I love seeing the Strictly outfits and it looks like everyone has a great time on it.
“It looks like it would be really uplifting and give you a buzz.”
Asked if she would go on Strictly, she said, “No, I wouldn’t. When I was in the Spice Girls, having to learn dance routines when I’m not a trained dancer was very full-on.
“It would take me longer than it took everybody else and it was hard work. I love dancing but having to learn moves – oh my God!” Read the full interview in the Radio Times, on sale now.
So if Ginger spice has ruled herself out of the line-up, who might be taking part in Strictly 2018?
If Head Judge Shirley Ballas has anything to do with it, a certain pop princess could be heading to the dancer floor.
Reportedly, the 57-year-old would love Cheryl to take part, saying, “I think Cheryl Cole would be amazing.”
However, there could be a few scheduling issues there, if the rumours that Chezza is heading back to the X Factor this year are true.
A former Great British Bake Off winner might also be next to dazzle on the ballroom floor too.
According to other Strictly rumours, Nadiya Hussain may well be keen to strut her stuff, after appearing in the audience last year.
A source allegedly said, “Producers have openly said how much they would like to get Nadiya on the show.”
Cheryl + Nadiya = dream line-up. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
