Emily Andre made her debut appearance stepping in for Dr Hilary on Lorraine this morning, with fans praising her ‘honest’ and ‘professional’ style.
The mum of two and wife of Peter Andre helped Lorraine to look through the health headlines, as well as discussing her life as a working mum-of-two, Peter’s wish for more children and her own cancer scare.
“I found a lump in my breast a year ago,” Emily told Lorraine, encouraging viewers not to be nervous about booking an appointment themselves.
“I didn’t need to feel silly about going in and they dealt with it quickly and it was fine. It’s really important to check yourself.”
She added that she regularly checks her own breasts in the shower, to look for abnormalities, and recommended that viewers at home do the same.
They also discussed Emily’s life with her husband Peter Andre, and her two children Amelia, 4, and Theo, 1.
Emily returned back to work as a doctor in December after maternity leave, and revealed that Peter has taken very well to his new house-husband role.
“I’m really enjoying getting stuck in,” she revealed.
“Pete is really enjoying it I think, he loves getting home and saying the dinner’s ready!”
When asked whether they are considering having another baby, she joked that “Pete changes his mind!” adding that when he appeared on Lorraine before, he said no to more children.
“But now Theo is sleeping a little bit more, he is like ‘well maybe we will.’ And I’m still very much focused on my career and getting back to that.”
Peter has previously admitted that Emily comes “nowhere near him” in bed, as she knows he is very keen on more children.
Emily’s candid approach went down a storm with fans on twitter, who applauded her drive and determination.
The day before, Peter posted a lovely photo of the two of them on Instagram, congratulating his wife on her debut.
With so many fans, who knows if we’ll be seeing more of Dr. Emily on our telly screens!
