Woof! It’s the Chinese year of the dog but which zodiac animal are you?

Today, millions will celebrate the start of the Chinese year of the dog – a year of honesty and loyalty.

Chinese New Year is marked on the 23rd day of the 12th month in the Chinese lunar calendar each year and in 2018 that’s February 16.

And it isn’t just one night – the festival lasts for 15 days with those celebrating having a whole week off work, holding colourful parties, feasts, and street parades.

Each Chinese year is represented by an animal in the Chinese zodiac, with the coming year being the year of the dog.

Those born in the year of the dog are said to get on well with those born in the year of the tiger, rabbit and horse but not with those born in the year of the rooster, goat, dragon or ox.

Here are all the Chinese animals – along with what it means and who your perfect match might be.
