It was the romance rumour surrounding last year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
And now, even months after the series has finished, viewers are still asking – were Mollie King and AJ Pritchard an item?
The pair regularly posted adorable selfies on social media, and were always seen hugging and holding hands whilst the BBC series was on.
But up until now, no one from Strictly (nor Mollie or AJ themselves), have commented on the speculation.
However, recently axed pro dancer Brendan Cole has given an intriguing insight to the flirty rumours. And it seems they may have been true!
Speaking to The Sun, the Strictly legend confirmed that he caught the pair in an *ahem* compromising situation in the boys dressing room during the series.
He said, “One evening I went in the boys’ changing room, walked in the door and there were AJ and Mollie.

“I wouldn’t have thought anything of it if they had gone, ‘Hey, Brendan, nice to see you’. But when I walked in the door, they went, ‘Sorry, sorry! Didn’t see you there’.
“Two young single people who get together on the show — it’s great, right?”

Brendan didn’t comment on whether the pair are still together now. But the pair now appear to be noticeably absent from one another’s social media. So could that suggest things potentially fizzled out as the show came to an end?
Mollie and AJ made it to the semi-finals of Strictly, before being booted out.
The adorable dancing duo were constantly teased about their ‘are they, aren’t they’ relationship. And the pair were forced to deny the rumours countless times.
In fact, even the show’s presenter, Tess Daley herself, made reference to the speculation at one point – asking if the couple had kissed at the end of a particularly sensual dance.
If they are together, it’s likely that Mollie and AJ will have spent a bit of time apart recently. Professional dancer AJ has been busy with the Strictly 2017 tour. And singer Mollie has been focusing on other, non-dancing related projects.
