There’s no denying things got frosty between Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas and professional dancer Brendan Cole when they locked horns on last year’s series.
But it looks like things have got a lot worse for the pair, with Brendan, 41, reportedly claiming Shirley ‘tried it on’ before he went pro.
And it’s safe to say Shirley is not impressed with the accusations, with the 57-year-old reportedly saying she ‘wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.’
The pair hit logger heads during the series last year when Shirley criticised Brendan’s dance partner, Good Morning Britain host Charlotte Hawkins’ ‘rise and fall’ during her Top Gun tango routine.
Not one to let things go too easily Brendan was quick to hit back admitting that he disagreed with her comments, to which Shirley’s fellow judge Bruno Toniolli told Brendan he needed to be more ‘respectful’.
Reports have claimed that their rift continued throughout the rest of the series.
But, despite Brendan getting the boot from the hit BBC One show it looks as though he won’t be disappearing from our screens anytime soon, with reports claiming he is likely to become a judge on rival ITV show Dancing On Ice.
And, it’s thought that Brendan could even be joining Strictly’s former head judge Len Goodman on the US version of the show Dancing with the Stars.
It’s clear that Len thinks highly of the professional dancer as he previously admitted, ‘I’m so sad; I don’t understand why [he was axed].’
In the interview with the Daily Mail he adds: ‘You can’t say he didn’t do a great job. He did and there was always a bit of an edge with him: the bad boy of ballroom – he didn’t mind answering you back.’
Fingers crossed we see Brendan back on our screens, but we don’t think Shirley and Brendan will kiss and make up anytime soon.
