The treatment of Brendan Cox and the allegations against him smacks of left-wing bias against Brexiteers, according to a leading commentator.

Cox, the widower of murdered MP Jo Cox, has admitted being a sex pest and quit two charities he had set up in his wife’s name, after several women made allegations against him.

Julia said she refrained from interviewing him because she was aware he had left a job at Save the Children in light of the allegations, and suggested he had been sanctified even though several women had come out against him.

She added that conservative figures such as Toby Young, Damian Green and Michael Fallon (who was found to have touched Julia herself on the knee) had been crucified by the media and female Labour MPs while Cox’s case was largely ignored, even though his alleged crimes were far more serious.

Her guest Brendan O’Neill, editor of Spiked Online, agreed the fact that Cox had been given “unimpeachable moral authority” on issues such as Trump and Brexit, because his political views chimed with those of the left.
