Ukip's Henry Bolton and 'racist' Jo Marney are back together
Relationship goals

The course of true love never did run smooth.

Sometimes, it has to weather public demand to break up with your lover over ‘racist’ text messages, so you can stay on as leader of a right-wing party which votes to remove you anyway.

Anyway, that’s a roundabout way of saying that Henry Bolton and Jo Marney are back together.

Former Ukip leader Bolton confirmed the news on Radio Kent this morning, saying ‘That’s a yes’ when asked if the two of them were in a relationship.

Asked if marriage was on the horizon he said ‘perhaps’ but ‘it’s not definite’ (not the most romantic proposal ever, it must be said.)

Pffft. Bunch of muppets. My love for Henry is unconditional of political leaderships. I ain’t going anywhere. ❤????

Bolton, 54, made a show of endings things with his girlfriend, 25, after text messages she sent were revealed to contain racial slurs about Meghan Markle ‘tainting’ the royal family.

Marney, the self-described ‘Bad Girl of Brexit’, also said black people were ugly.

She had also described Muslims as a ‘cancer’.

Comedian sued by ex-husband for talking about their relationship in her show

But this wasn’t a deal breaker for Bolton, seemingly, who admitted the scandal had ‘weakened’ him and ‘created an opportunity for my political enemies to have a go at me and ultimately they succeeded’.

Things may be bleak on the political stage for him, losing the leadership after just five months, but at least he has a passionate cheerleader on the personal front.

‘My love for Henry is unconditional of political leaderships. I ain’t going anywhere,’ Marney tweeted.

Silver-tongued Bolton previously spoke of his feelings to Andrew Marr, when asked if he was ‘still in love’ with Marney.

‘There are strong affections there yes,’ he said.

Truly a love story for our time.
