NEW DELHI: The BSE Smallcap index was 1.17 per cent up at 17,931 around 10:50 am, while Sensex was 0.44 per cent up at 33,967.
The NSE Nifty50 index was 0.51 per cent up at 10,436 around that time.
Shares of Dynamatic Technologies (up 9.87 per cent), Venky's (India) (up 9.40 per cent), Jindal Drilling & Industries (up 7.87 per cent), Oswal Green Tech (up 6.78 per cent), HIL (up 6.45 per cent), Shriram EPC (up 6.28 per cent), BF Investment (up 5.31 per cent), Coromandel International (up 5.29 per cent) and Gujarat Ambuja Exports (up 5.11 per cent) were the top gainers in the BSE Smallcap index.
However, shares of Jubilant Life Sciences (down 8.59 per cent), Gujarat NRE Coke (down 6.73 per cent), Ricoh India (down 4.99 per cent), Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network (down 4.99 per cent), Gitanjali Gems (down 4.98 per cent), Agarwal Industrial Corporation (down 4.48 per cent) and Gujarat NRE Coke (down 4.12 per cent) were losing in the smallcap index.
Equity benchmark were in the positive territory as the March derivatives series kicked off on a strong note amid positive Asian cues.
Sun Pharma, Tata Steel and YES Bank were the top gainers in the Sensex kitty of stocks.
