Coleen Nolan has admitted that her son has given her some strict rules to follow for when she decides to enter the dating pool again.
The newly-single Loose Women star announced her divorce from second husband Ray Fensome earlier this month following a “hellish” year.
And now, her eldest son, Shane, 29 – who she shares with first husband, actor Shane Richie – has been offering his mum some dating advice.
Speaking on Tuesday’s Loose Women, Coleen revealed, “I think they’ll be a nightmare, there’s already a few rules in place.
“Shane is 30 this year and he went, ‘Mum it would be so lovely if you meet someone else but please don’t date anyone younger than me.'”
Coleen recently revealed in her column with the Mirror that she and Ray have been struggling with their marriage for a long time.
However, she admitted that her three children have all been “understanding” about the split.
Coleen wrote, “My beautiful kids, Shane Jnr, Jake and Ciara – my daughter with Ray – have all been unbelievably supportive and understanding.
“I want to show marriages can break down without families breaking down too – so long as you’re honest.”
The couple married in 2008 in a lavish ceremony at Hazelwood Castle, Leeds, after becoming engaged in 2005.
“I’ve got tears pouring down my face as I write this. It’s hard to imagine that so much could have changed from that day in 2008 when we married.
“On that day, I thought there was nothing that could split us up. I was convinced we’d grow old together, hobbling to the post office to collect our pensions.
“But a decade on and it’s now clear I was wrong. There is too much dividing me and Ray. We can’t go back. And my future is going to be very different to the one I’d imagined back then.”
