The magical Balearic island of Ibiza has long been a Mecca for music-loving celebrities attracted to its hedonistic nightlife, sunshine filled days and laid back ambiance.
Madonna to Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian are just some of the A-Listers who flock to the Spanish rock to live it up.
Of course, not for them a packed economy flight out of London. But neither do you have to slum it.
Thanks to SurfAir, party lovers wanting to experience arriving in Ibiza in VIP style can do so.
The private jet company has introduced a special affordable service so you can experience the high life and it is an experience not to be missed.
There’s no stress of waiting for a check-in desk or crowds of people and attention to detail is meticulous.
I arrive at their private terminal in Luton which is more akin to the foyer of a five-star hotel than an airport, where I am met by smiling staff in gleaming uniforms who whisk my case from me and lead me into a stylishly decorated lounge where a waiter takes my order for champagne and olives.
Everything is complimentary and it takes all my discipline to not order a whole bottle of champers.
When our flight is ready, a member of staff comes to collect you to lead you out onto the runway and onto the jet.
Planes are plush inside – comfortable leather seats – can hold up to eight passengers at a time and come complete with a self-service fully stocked bar (more champs) from which you help yourself.
Monthly membership is from £1,750 per month and users can fly as much as they like with two reservations at a time.
The flight itself is a dream. You fly at a higher altitude than a normal passenger plane and arrive on the island less than two hours after takeoff – quicker than a train from London to Manchester.
No wonder celebrities adore them.
WHAT TO DO
When people go to Ibiza they normally visit to try out the world famous clubbing scene so no trip would be complete with a night at the island’s most emblematic nightclub Pacha.
In fact, it should be compulsory.
The 3000 capacity venue boasts resident DJs David Guetta and Erick Morillo among others and is the place to see and be seen.
Be prepared to get sweaty.
But if the feet aren’t keeping to the beat there is a fabulous lounge area where you can recline cocktail in hand on white leather sofas plied with Missoni style cushions.
If you want to catch some rays while clubbing then head to Ocean Beach Ibiza for the ultimate decadent beach club experience.
Situated along the beautiful S’Arenal waterfront on the West coast of Ibiza in San Antonio, this place is glamour to the max. Girls come out with a face full of makeup and Hollywood hair despite the heat of the Ibizan sun.
Enjoying one of the yummy cocktailsTake shade in a cabana where you lie on white leather beds. Here you can order the famous Ocean Beach cocktails and lie back while listening to the sounds of DJ Tom Crane.
If you’re feeling hungry after all that drinking and dancing venture along to STK Ibiza for dinner.
On the menu, you will find prime cuts of mouth-watering steak served up with a range of side dishes that will suit all palettes.
But this is more than just a restaurant. The venue offers up a sophisticated dining experience so expect some cabaret acts as you tuck into the food!
Of course, Ibiza isn’t all wining and dining.
If you want to see some of the island I recommend a jeep tour with Artash Doult of Active Ibiza.
Artash knows how the hidden gems on the island and the best places to get that stunning Instagram photo.
His company can also arrange anything from balloon flights to horse riding to yoga.
During the tour, I was taken to watch the sunset at the beautiful Benirras Beach.
It really is worth the trip to the north side of the island to watch the romantic sunset.
WHERE TO STAY:
OD Talamanca is situated on one of the finest locations on the island – 10 km from the airport – offering spectacular views of both Talamanca bay and Ibiza’s old town (Dalt Vila – Unesco Heritage) and will make you feel like a celebrity.
The beach is just some steps away as well as the most exclusive marinas, but the hotel boasts two heated outdoor swimming pools and solariums if you want to stay close by.
Each of the 117 rooms and suites faces the sea and have their own unique aesthetic design which pays homage to the Mediterranean.
Fabulous art work and sculptures are dotted around the hotel itself and the architecture and interiors created exclusively by Victor Rahola and the interior designer Mayte Matutes.
The beds are divinely comfortable and the bathroom equipped with swanky toiletries.
Breakfast comes highly recommended – the À La Carte Restaurant serving a health-conscious menu with an Asian influence.
This newly opened hotel is fast becoming one of the coolest hotels in Ibiza and a recommended destination.
