NEW DELHI: The BSE Midcap index was underperforming benchmark Sensex during Tuesday's trade.
Around 10:45 hours, the BSE Midcap index trading 0.15 per cent down at 16,660, while the BSE Sensex was 0.07 per cent down at 34,421. The NSE Nifty50 index was 0.11 per cent down at 10,570.
Shares of Oberoi Realty (down 5.26 per cent), Vakrangee (down 4.99 per cent), Reliance Communications (down 3.19 per cent), Bank of India (down 2.79 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 2.56 per cent) and IDBI Bank (down 2.09 per cent) were among the top losers in the BSE Midcap index.
However, Indraprastha Gas (up 3.01 per cent), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (up 2.97 per cent), Endurance Technologies (up 2.96 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 2.43 per cent) and Tata Global Beverages (up 2.01 per cent) were among the gainers in the midcap index.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in red.
Bharti Airtel, Dr Reddy's Labs, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation and Hindustan Unilever were among the top gainers in the Sensex index.
On the contrary, State Bank of India, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank were among the top losers in the Sensex kitty of stocks.
