The TV couple give fans a sneak peek into their home…
This Morning presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have been working around-the-clock on something for Channel 5.
The on-screen presenting duo, who presents the ITV daytime show ever Friday, gave fans a taste of life at home, when they shared a behind the scenes clip from a project they’re working on.
Ruth uploaded the clip to her social media, which shows husband Eamonn explaining what was happening. He said, “Here’s Ruth and I, she’s taking these pictures, having a quiet night at home, isn’t it darling?”
Ruth replied: “Very quiet night in, it isn’t like we’re bringing our work home with us is it love?” And Eamonn added, “And that clock is not saying twenty past nine.”
But it clearly does.
It has been previously revealed that Ruth and Eamonn would be fronting a new, prime-time show on Channel 5 which is different to anything they’ve ever done before.
Do The Right Thing will be a live audience programme, which has the ambition to “make the world a better place”.
According to the website, it will be a consumer-based show. And apparently, it plans to “put the spotlight on rogue companies and red tape, whilst championing inspiring consumer stories and creating emotional reunions”. While it’s not clear whether they were filming for this show or something else this time, but what we do know is Channel 5 were involved as Ruth captioned the clip, ‘Coming soon on @channel5_tv’
The couple will be joined by Capital FM presenter Roman Kemp, and presenter Michael Underwood. Even ex-politician Ann Widdecombe will be making an appearance “tackling Britain’s bureaucracy”. Ruth and Eamonn will spend each episode meeting with people who make a difference and reporting on social injustices. However, it won’t all be serious, as the Channel 5 website promises that ‘the series will feature laugh-out-loud moments… as we’re is taken on a rollercoaster journey through personal consumer experiences.’ The Channel 5 website also says, ‘In the series, Eamonn and Ruth celebrate the unsung heroes. They’ll stand up for the man and woman in the street, and give a much-needed voice to those whose voices are rarely, if ever, heard.’
Meanwhile Ruth has started up her fitness regime for the first time since competing in 2017’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Ruth, while running the treadmill, explained, ‘This is my first workout since I finished strictly and its so hard, help me, I’m running, garage workout, it’s freezing as well, some and join me, let’s get fit together.”
Do The Right Thing will be the presenting duos third series with the network, having won over viewers already with their How The Other Half Lives programme. Fans also loved Ruth and Eamonn’s rather tounge-in-cheek Channel 5 programme The 7 Year Itch, which aired last year.
An air date for their newest series has not yet been announced. But with Ruth sharing filming updates on her social media, the show likely isn’t too far away from our screens.
