Kerry Katona has likened her split from George Kay to ‘death’ as she finally opens up – nearly one year on.
The mum-of-five had a turbulent year last year which saw her and third husband, George, separate after “a string of rows,” but Kerry finally feels like herself again.
Opening up about the split, Kerry said: “I really struggled at first because he was with me 24/7 and it was like a death.”
And, it’s not just Kerry who is feeling happier without George – the father of three-year-old Dylan-George – around the house. The singer admitted her kids feel more content too.
“It’s just me and the kids at home now and a much happier house. He held me back, put me down and the financial strain of having him here was huge,” the 37-year-old said.
“I wouldn’t take George back in a million years. Lilly would walk out if I did, and I’m not even attracted to him any more.”
As well as her one child with George, Kerry is mum to Molly, 16 and Lily-Sue, 14, from her previous marriage to Brian McFadden and Heidi, 10 and Maxwell, nine, with ex-husband Mark Croft.
And, with her Instagram littered with bikini snaps of her recent two stone weight loss, it’s easy to see Kerry is feeling better in herself.
Despite having had liposuction in the past, Kerry insists her shrinking figure is down to being single and focussing on herself again.
“This time I’ve done it all myself,” she confessed. “Honestly for me, going through a separation, being on my own and learning to love myself and being off my bipolar medication has all helped me!”
So could Kerry be walking down the aisle again any time soon? Apparently not.
“I’m done with marriage and I don’t want any more babies. I’ve been pregnant all my life! I want to meet someone who has kids already, who is ready to enjoy life with me now,” she said.
Good for you, Kerry!
