NEW DELHI: Shares of Shares of Indraprastha Gas (up 2.18 per cent), Castrol India (up 2.15 per cent) and ONGC (up 1.38 per cent) were trading with gains in Wednesday's trade, keeping the BSE Oil & Gas index in the green.

The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 1.12 per cent up at 14,782 around 11 am (IST).

Shares of BPCL (up 1.34 per cent), Oil India (up 1.25 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.04 per cent), Reliance Industries (up 1.01 per cent), HPCL (up 0.93 per cent) and Petronet LNG (up 0.11 per cent) were also trading with gains.

However, shares of GAIL (India) (down 0.18 per cent) were slightly down around that time.

Decent buying across sectors amid a firm trend in global equities were keeping benchmark indices up.

The BSE Sensex was up 327 points at 33,324, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 96 points at 10,220.

Among the 30 stocks in Sensex index, 28 were trading in green, while 2 were in red.

Shares of Hero MotoCorp and Wipro were trading slightly down.

Bharti Airtel continued leading the Sensex index.
