NEW DELHI: Over 210 stocks, including Adani Power, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar, Capital First, Chennai Petroleum Corporation and Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE during Monday's trade.
Dhampur Sugar Mills, Dharani Sugars & Chemicals, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries, HDIL, HPCL, IDFC Bank, Indian Oil Corporation, Lupin, REC, Tata Motors and Vijaya Bank also joined the league of stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE.
The benchmark BSE Sensex extended volatility for the third straight day in early trade today on selling by domestic institutional investors amid weakness in Asian markets on trade war concerns.
Asian markets were trading lower following a global sell-off last week amid rising tensions between the US and China.
IT, oil & gas and auto stocks were among the top laggards during Monday's trade.
The NSE Nifty index was trading 12 points down at 9,986, while the BSE Sensex was down 3 points at 32,594 around 11:05 am (IST).
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank climbed over 1 per cent in the Nifty index.
On the contrary, GAIL (India), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Wipro, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone and Bharat Petroleum Corporation were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
