Jenni Falconer revealed a painful symptom of Raynauds disease after sharing an image of her blood-deprived finger on Thursday.
The 42-year-old TV host shocked fans with the close-up image of her hand, showing one extremely white finger compared to the others, a side-effect of the condition with affects blood circulation around the body.
She captioned the snap: This is my hand at its most attractive… Anyone else suffer with bad circulation? #badcirculation #whathappenswhenitscold #raynauds.
Fans were quick to thank Jenni for raising awareness of the painful disease, with many sharing their own experiences.
One said: Im sorry youre suffering this, but so happy to see this post today. I have this condition as well… Im glad to know Im not alone, yet sorry you have this too.
Another wrote: Omg I feel your pain! Fingers and toes are like this all through winter- so painful! People think Im being mard because Im constantly cold Good to see people raising awareness of #raynaudsphenomenon.
Jenni has spoken openly in the past about her battle with the phenomenon, telling The Mirror in 2014: Raynauds is a circulatory problem brought on by cold and changes of temperature.
Ive suffered from it in my fingers and toes since I was 17, and it can be so painful that it brings tears to my eyes.
She continued: Since then, the condition has worsened. I get it in all my fingers and toes and an attack can last up to 30 minutes.
When life returns to the affected part of my body, its like being poked with cocktail sticks – a severe case of pins and needles.
A burning sensation adds to the pain, too.
The NHS website describes the disease as: Raynauds phenomenon is common and doesnt usually cause any severe problems. You can often treat the symptoms yourself by keeping warm. Sometimes it can be a sign of a more serious condition.
