Nine male celebrities took to the stage in Sheffield on Wednesday night to perform The Real Full Monty, and fans have praised the brave men for raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.
Amongst those that stripped off in front of the nation were TV presenter Jeff Brazier, Pointless host Alexander Armstrong, EastEnders actor John Partridge, celebrity chef Ainsley Harriot, Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo, former rugby star Ugo Monye, The Wanted singer Tom Parker, footballer John Hartson and TOWIEs James Argent.
And, fans and fellow celebs alike were full of praise for the men.
“Watching The Full Monty!! So brilliant well done to everyone taking part! Entertaining and heartfelt. Such a good cause,” Kelly Brook tweeted.
Another online user agreed, saying: “The real full monty on ITV… bloody brilliantly!! That takes a lot of guts for all of them to do that, full respect to those guys for bringing awareness to testicular cancer.”
A third tweeted: “Well done to all these brave men doing the full monty and well done to all the brave people out there fighting cancer. Never give up the fight!!!!! #TheRealFullMonty.”
Jeff Brazier – who lost the mother of his children, Jade Goody, to cervical cancer in 2019 – also took some time to reflect after the emotional performance.
“Tonight was emotional. A mixture of pride, nerves, exhilaration and realisation all felt in such a short space of time. Enough time though to convey an incredibly important and powerful message,” he said.
“Ultimately I dont want any more children to grow up without a parent on account of potentially treatable illness. Everyone had such powerful stories of their own. A text from my son put everything in perspective for me just 10 minutes before we went on. #Grateful.”
The Full Monty continues tonight, but this time its the girls turn. The line-up consists of Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan, Victoria Derbyshire, Emmerdale actress Sally Dexter, former TOWIE star Megan McKenna, singer Michelle Heaton, actress Helen Lederer, TVs Ruth Madoc and presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford.
We cant wait!
