Coronation Streets Kate Ford has hit back at a cruel troll who told her she needed Botox.
The 40-year-old actress, best known for playing Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap, was left upset by the comments from a fan of the show, and took to Twitter to vent her frustrations.
She wrote: “I wont twitter shame but Im a 40 year old woman and another woman has just tweeted a picture of my forehead and said she doesnt believe in Botox but if she had a forehead like mine she would.
“Shame on you! You do women a disservice.”
As soon as Kate tweeted the comments, her Corrie co-stars, including Catherine Tyldesley and Helen Flanagan, rushed to show their support.
Catherine, whos soon to leave her role as Eva Price, fumed: “Youre kidding me???? Jealousy babe. Pure and simple- youre fit as! What a polluted soul she has. Give me a wrinkle over a s**t personality any day.”
Helen, who plays Sophie Webster, added: “@kateford76 thats disgusting Kate x your beautiful inside and out and fabulous x love you babe ignore the nasty witch!!! Great supporter of women she is x”
And Sally Anne Matthews – who plays Jenny Bradley – agreed: “Unbelievable. Im giving her my ”special death glare x.”
Beverley Callards actress daughter Rebecca Callard also wrote: “Thats very cruel & totally unnecessary. What happened to basic human kindness? Also, you look incredible. Very beautiful. Age shaming seems to be more & more prevalent & accepted. If women have Botox its what did they do to their face and if they dont its ugh wrinkles…”
It wasnt just her co-stars who defended Kate against the mean comments, as fans started backing her up too.
One said: “Noo this makes me SO sad! youre so so so gorgeous & you are ten times the people they are!! dont sink to their level, amazing women dont shame others (sic).”
And another added: “Ah jealousy, only mean jealous women do stuff like that x”
