Streaming giants Hulu and Spotify are joining forces to offer a dual video and music streaming subscription. The move, which was announced by TV-streaming service Hulu, will allow users to access both Spotifys Premium music service and Hulus video-on-demand service for $12.99 (£9.15) per month.
The new subscription plan will allows subscribers to enjoy unlimited ad-free music on Spotify, as well as access to the more than 75,000 current and classic TV shows and movies on Hulu, although the video streaming service will include adverts. The new package follows the launch of Spotify Premium for Students, which also included the Hulu bundle.

“Based on the outstanding performance of the Spotify and Hulu student package, its clear that consumers love to combine their music and television experiences together,” said Tim Connolly, head of distribution and partnerships at Hulu. “Hulu and Spotify are brands that are defining how fans connect with entertainment in the future, and we are excited to expand our partnership to bring this combined package to all existing and new Spotify Premium subscribers.”
Customers who are already Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to add the Hulu service for a three month trial period for an extra $0.99 per month before deciding if they want to make a full switch to the $12.99 plan. However, Hulu is still not available to users based in the UK.
