Friday the 13th is know as an official day of doom and there's even a term for a phobia of the unlucky date – friggatriskaidekaphobia.
A whopping 30% of Brits suffer from this phobia and many even change their plans so they don't have to leave the house on the frightful day.
To make matters worse 72% of people claim to have experienced bad luck on Friday the 13th.
Due to the days bad reputation many are unwilling to board a plane during the 24-hour period. But if you're not the superstitious type you can save yourself a bucket load on travel expenses.

Over the past few years holiday firms have started claiming that the cost of air travel does indeed fall on the spooky date.
And recent research by flight comparison website Kayak.co.uk, found that flying on Friday the 13th is in fact 5% cheaper.
The study looked at flights to the 20 most popular destinations from the UK and they found that some experience a huge drop in price.

Flights to Gran Canaria, for example, fall from £63 to £36 for the 13th – a drop of 44%.
A spokesperson for Kayak said: “Flight prices are very much based on demand – when demand is up they rise and when it is down they fall. Our data, therefore, indicates that many are choosing not to travel on Friday the 13th.”
Another flight comparison website, Momondo, found that flights were as much as 16% cheaper flying this Friday compared with last Friday.

The price of flights to Milan were down 30% – the largest difference discovered by the travel company.
If you're too scared to fly on "dooms day" you'll be interested to hear that it's actually marginally safer to fly on this date.
The average number of fatal aircraft crashes on Friday the 13th days is 0.067 per day, compared to a usual daily average of 0.091, according to a statistical analysis by the Aviation Safety Network, conducted in 2013.
