ITVs Love Island took over the summer last year, as viewers watched young stars Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay being crowned winners.
And following its great success with viewing figures higher than ever before, TV bosses are now giving single celebs over the age of 40 the chance to find love, and theyve already got their eye on a few single stars, such as Coleen Nolan and Davina McCall – oh yeah!
According to The Sun, producers are planning a series based on 1989 film Shirley Valentine, in which a 42-year-old mum heads abroad and finds love with a Greek local.
The new show will be called My Shirley Valentine Summer, and will start filming next month.
A source said: “Whether it is discovering a new relationship, hobby or career or rediscovering their confidence and ambition, the show will see the famous group living together and forming new friendships to share every moment of this unique experience. Its the trip of a lifetime.
“Casting agents are busy choosing celebs to take part at the moment and are focusing on single women at a crossroads in their life who would benefit from the journey.”
So which famous celebs could be set to take part in the brand new show?
Coleen Nolan
The Loose Woman panelist recently split from her husband of 10 years, Ray Fensome, as she admitted: “There is too much dividing me and Ray.”
And since then, shes been very open about new opportunities, saying: “My future is going to be very different to the one Id imagined back then.”
On Mondays episode of the ITV show, the 52-year-old even hinted at finding love, as they spoke about their plans for their next five years.
“Who knows who Ill come back with?” she said cheekily to her fellow pannelist Andrea McLean.
And only last month, a source told us Coleen was ready to start dating again.
“Coleens marriage to Ray left her as a shell of a person and with no self-confidence. Now she wants a man who will love her stretch marks, worship her wobbles and who thinks shes beautiful no matter what,” the insider revealed.
Davina McCall
Like Coleen, the television presenter, 50, also confirmed she and her husband Matthew Robertson had separated, after 17 years of marriage.
She said: “I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated. Our amazing children are our No 1 priority, above everything else, through this difficult time.”
And since the break-up, Davina has been throwing herself in the gym, regularly showing off her enviable abs.
so we highly doubt shell have problems slipping into a bikini to find love in the Majorcan villa.
Plus, she recently revealed she was crushing on US actor Dwayne The Rock Johnson, so now could be the time.
And its sounds like TV bosses are pulling out all the stops to make the show a big hit with even actress Jennifer Aniston – who recently split from her husband Justin Theroux – being suggested.
Wow, we cant wait for this!
