Anthony Quinlan is in talks to join the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Emmerdale actor is currently dating Strictly pro Dianne Buswell, and if he joins it will mean hes paired with her, making them the first real-life couple to take part together.
Dianne, 28, met Anthony, 33, who plays Pete Barton in the ITV soap, at the shows wrap party last year.
The couple were introduced by Anthonys Emmerdale co-star Gemma Atkinson, 33, who is dating pro dancer Gorka Marquez, 27, in December.
An insider told The Sun: “Dianne and Anthony are excited by the prospect of being the first ever couple to dance together on the show.
“Bosses think their real-life chemistry would be a massive draw for viewers and would really rev up the competition.
“Dianne thinks the winning gimmick will guarantee her a place in the professional line-up as shes still waiting to hear whether not shes made the cut.
“The only catch is that Anthony still needs to confirm Emmerdale bosses will give him time off set to immerse himself in dance rehearsals.
“Hes hoping that he can convince them it would be great coverage and promotion for the soap as well.”
While Dianne and Anthony would be first couple to be paired together at the start of Strictly, theyre not the first couple to have been produced from the series.
Ben Cohen and Kristina Rihanoff now have a child together, having met on Strictly, while Rachel Riley has been dating Pasha Kovalev ever since they were paired together on the show.
The news about Anthony and Dianne comes after Zoe Ball confirmed shell be back presenting It Takes Two this year.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willougby tried to get Zoe to dish the dirt on the upcoming series hotly anticipated celebrity line up when she was on This Morning. “Are you even thinking about Strictly yet? When do you find out whos on it?” Holly asked.
“Im just scouring all of the social media and the papers to find out who Im going to be talking to every night on It Takes Two,” Zoe replied.
“They never tell me anything. I have a big mouth, as you know, so I am none the wiser. Last year there were rumours of Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Wicks and neither of them did it.”
