BANNED: There are a number of rules about what you can and can't take on flights
Frequent travellers will probably be aware of the 100ml liquid rule, but what about food items?
Cakes, sandwiches, fruit, vegetables and all other solid foods are fine to take through UK airport security.
However, there are a number of items that you might not realise are banned.
Pots of jam, hummus, syrups, honey and guacamole all have to be 100ml or under and have to fit in the tiny plastic bag with your other liquids.

But if you took the hummus out of the pot and put it on a slice of bread, it would be considered acceptable.
Jars of olives and gherkins also count as a liquid because they contain a considerable amount of juice.
And items in cans, such as tuna, are also banned if they exceed the 100ml limit.

This also means that sauces, yoghurts, vinegar and oil are not allowed if theyre over the required amount.
In terms of drinks, cans and bottles are fine – as long as theyre under 100ml.
If you buy a bottle of bubbly or any other drink above 100ml at the airport, this is acceptable to take on board as it will be sealed in an airport bag.

If your child is two or under, you are allowed to carry some items in your hand luggage, including baby milk and sterilised water.
