TVs Judge Rinder was left in tears as he discovered his grandfathers heartbreaking history during the Second World War, whilst appearing on Who Do You Think You Are?…

The 39-year-old, Robert Rinder, became visibly emotional as he learned that his grandfather Morriss whole family, who were Jewish, were wiped out by Nazis.

In the emotional documentary, Robert travelled to Piotrkow in Poland, to trace his family history. While there, he saw a train pass from a spot where Morris family would have been taken to concentration camps to die.

Becoming emotional, he said, “Just the most staggering thing of passing on a speeding train, your family gone and then you go back to your house and youre alone.

“Its impossible to fathom for my grandfather what that must have been like – to come back to nothing.”

Judge Rinder also found out on the programme that his grandfathers parents, and his five siblings, were all killed during the war. Morris was then sent to Schlieben concentration camp in Germany, where he was forced to work, making missiles for the army.

A BBC source told The Sun, “Robert already had some knowledge about his familys history but discovered the full extent of their treatment during filming.

“The programme is already looking like one of the most intriguing yet.”

Judge Rinders episode is just one in the upcoming series of the BBC show. The next season will also feature Olivia Colman, Boy George, Michelle Keegan and Lee Mack, who all work to trace their family history.

During her time on the programme, Broadchurch star Olivia discovered that she also had an emotional family history.

She was told that her great-great-great grandmother Harriot was made an orphan in 11. After her fathers death, she was forced to make the journey over from Calcutta to England by herself, at just four years old.

The extraordinary story reportedly reduced Olivia to tears, who couldnt believe that such a young child had made such a huge journey alone.
