ROYAL WEDDING 2018: Will flyers coming into London Heathrow Airport on Saturday be affected?

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, will exchange vows in a romantic ceremony at Windsor Castle this Saturday.

As a results planes will be banned from flying over the Berkshire town on the day as a “no fly zone” is enforced.

On May 19, flights in and out of London Heathrow Airport will have to re-route around Windsor on approach.

Pilots will have to be redirected around Windsor on approach in a ruling made by the Civil Aviation Authority.

However, this wont have any impact on passengers or flight times.

“Flights from Heathrow wont need to be redirected under this ban”

London Heathrow Airport spokesperson

The CAA has reportedly made the flight ban for “safety and security” reasons amid the ongoing terror threat posed to Britain.

This means no aircrafts will be permitted below 2,500ft on Saturday and Sunday.

However according to Heathrow Airport, this will not make a difference to passengers flying into the London.

A spokesperson has confirmed to Daily Star Online that “flights from Heathrow wont need to be redirected under this ban”.

They said: “We are celebrating this momentous occasion by giving arriving passengers – on Saturday May 19 – a regal fanfare welcome to Britain.

“Passengers arriving on the UKs doorstep will be treated to royal lemon and elderflower cupcakes, a Queens Guard, Beefeater, patriotic bunting and a Royal Trumpeter.

“Screens across all terminals will also be tuned to BBC News 24, broadcasting the Royal Wedding live so our passengers dont miss a moment.”
