Virgin Voyages is jointly owned by Sir Richard Bransons Virgin Group and Bain Capital.
The firm plans to launch three new 2,700 passenger vessels by 2020.
Designers have drawn up plans of what the ships will look like – even though none of them have ever sailed before.
By choosing those without a big knowledge of boats, the company hopes that the end result will be more creative than ever before.

MAKING WAVES: The innovative models have been created by designers
Designer Tom Dixon told Conde Nast Traveler: “Its quite risky, what Virgin Voyages are trying to do, getting a bunch of (designers) whove never been on a cruise before.
“But there's a logic to that madness. If youre going to encourage a new demographic to cruise, then why not use designers whove never been on one? We think, 'what would entice you to go on a cruise?'"
This forward-thinking approach seems to have paid off, as mock-ups of the ships are very eye-catching.
The vessels have been created to reflect “The Modern Romance of Sailing”.
For this reason, theyre decorated with nautical portholes and catamaran nets.
To make the most of the ocean views, the ships also feature outdoor lounges.
These areas, known as The Dock, will be located on deck seven.
As its at the very top of the ship, its the best place to take in the sea view and enjoy some stargazing.
