Christine Lampard and husband Frank Lampard recently announced the very exciting news they are expecting their first baby. But the 39-year-old TV presenter says shes already feeling the pressure to find out the sex – because Franks daughters are desperate for a baby sister.
Speaking on Lorraine, Christine adorably admitted Franks little girls Luna, 12, and Isla, 10 – who he shares with first wife Elen Rivers – are adamant that their dad and Christine have a baby girl.
“[Franks daughters] are completely beside themselves, more so than I thought they would be. It does have to be a girl though, apparently, thats the only issue. I cant guarantee that! Theyre desperate for a little girl,” Christine said.
Aww.
Frank and Christine got hitched in 2015 and announced the news that they were expecting their first child on Instagram last week.
Christine is already five months pregnant, meaning her due date is around September, but she has admitted she couldnt quite believe it when she discovered she was expecting.
She only had one pregnancy test in the house “at the time and then it must have been at least five or six [tests] but even then it didnt count, I was thinking this cant be real!”
But it was, and now the pair are overjoyed that their family is expanding.
Luckily, Christine says shes avoided any of the nasties too, like morning sickness.
“I feel really good. Im trying to do all the right things, but obviously being completely new to this, as any first time mum will know, theres a whole list of things that I didnt know about. So Im learning on the job. I wasnt terribly sick in those early stages, which was great. A bit sort of nauseous, but nothing too major. I feel good.”
And all the family are behind them.
“We are excited,” she added. “You get to the stage where you dont think about it, and you think maybe its just not going to happen, but suddenly when it does and its involved the entire family obviously. First grandchild for my parents. My sister, as an auntie, is very excited.”
And Frank? Well, hes just as ecstatic: “He just cannot wait, very excited daddy-to-be. I think because the girls are so into it too, its a lovely little kind of unit almost. Were all in this together now…We feel very grateful.”
Congrats guys! You make an adorable family team!
