The super cave, called the Miao Room, is one of the largest underground chambers in the world and fits four Great Pyramids of Giza inside it.

As well as this, it equates to a whopping 22 football fields within the cave.

It is the second largest cave when measured in surface area, being beaten by Sarawak Chamber in Malaysia.

When it is measured in volume, it is a staggering 380.7 million cubic feet and measures 1.27 million feet.

Incredible images show ancient Roman city under the sea

The cave can be seen in the Ziyun Getu He National Park, in the province of Guizhou.

Last month, a video revealed the expansive chamber after an expedition to explore the cave was launched.

The expedition, called “Pearl”, had a number of scientists and explorers on the journey from China and France.

The clip shows a large black hole in the cave which appears to have no natural light emerging from it.

Incredible underwater cities

The idea that an entire city could just vanish beneath the waves is a terrifying thought – and while these lost underwater cities arent the mythical Atlantis, thats exactly what happened to them. It is believed the cave was sculpted 100 million years ago, in which layers of rock formed while water flowed through a shaft.

The mapping of the geography only finished in 2013 after British explorers funded by the National Geographic Society revealed the size of it.

Scientists used 3D laser scanners to measure the time the light takes to reflect back to estimate the size of the cave.

LARGE: It is one of the largest caves in the world and it fits four Great Pyramids

The cave debris found throughout could help to understand how it grows, while other information allows scientists to learn more about climate change.

However, the Great Pyramid of Giza is still a larger structure despite four of them fitting into the vast cavern.

The Pyramids themselves have remained a mystery over time and why they were made in the shape they were.

Over 4,500 years ago they were built by Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu as a pioneering feat of engineering.

A theory behind the pyramid sides aligning to the cardinal points of north, south, east and west has long been questioned.

One man believes it is all to do with the autumn equinox.
