Strictly Come Dancing may seem like a while away, but it hasnt stopped rumours swirling over which lucky celebs will be gracing the famous ballroom.
Although weve had no names confirmed for the series so far, Union Js Josh Cuthbert and presenter Maya Jamas names have been thrown into the mix.
However, we can expect no reality stars to appear on the show as they have reportedly been banned. It has been claimed that reality stars including former TOWIE star Samantha Faiers are said to have used the show to further personal publicity.
Certain reality celebrities have been peddling these stories about being in talks for the show when they have never been approached, an insider revealed to The Sun newspaper.
Bosses are now fed up of hearing the same people bandying around their own names just to shift a few copies of some weight-loss DVD. In light of this, theyve put in place their own reality star ban to stop them from cashing in on the show.
The news is sure to hit reality favourite, TOWIEs Gemma Collins hard after she confessed her desire to participate in the hugely popular show. However, judge Craig Revel Horwood wasnt as keen on the GC and explained that the show is used to a higher calibre of contestant. Awkward!
Although reality stars are now facing the ban, there are a lucky few who have been able to enjoy the delights of Strictly.
In 2014, former TOWIE star Mark Wright dazzled in sequins on the show, but was labelled as a DJ instead of a reality star following his radio show on Heart FM. Meanwhile, Alison Hammond – who appeared on Big Brother – also starred as a contestant in the same series.
Lets hope this years Love Island contestants werent hoping to land a spot on the show!
