The beautiful Turquoise Coast is unmissable… find out why

Platinum beaches, forgotten grottoes, bustling shopping bazaars, ancient historical sites and tasty mezze… what else do you need this summer?

Sun? Yes, Turkey has that too – 300 days in fact. So heres a round-up of our favourite Turkish delights, all easily accessible from the UK.

Discover Dalaman

Scenic Olu Deniz

If youre hankering after head-turning views, Olu Deniz has plenty. Its picturesque blue lagoon, backed by a lush national park, is famed for its aquamarine hues and surrounded by pine-covered mountains. Known by locals as the Dead Sea, its calm waters are the perfect place to take a dip, enjoy an ice cream and… relax.

And when youre not soaking up the sunshine on one of the many family-friendly beaches in this area, theres only one other place to make the most of those gorgeous panoramic views – the sky. Babadag mountain is said to be one of the best places to paraglide in the world, so if youre feeling adventurous, its an unforgettable must-do to tick off that travel bucket list.

Stunning Dalyan

For nature lovers everywhere, this is the place for you. The pretty riverbank town of Dalyan, set on a network of fertile waterways, is a haven for wildlife, including rare loggerhead turtles.

Want to catch a glimpse of these ethereal creatures? Hop on a boat to the beautiful golden stretch of sand at Itzuzu Beach. And if you dont catch a glimpse, drop by the Sea Turtle Sanctuary.

Then as the sun sets, theres only one place to go: the atmospheric ruins of Kaunos. Enjoy a meal and gaze up at these majestic tombs cut high into a mountain. Magical!

Enjoy Antalya

Family-friendly Alanya

Prefer a livelier holiday? Alanya in the Antalya area gives you the best of both worlds. Relax during the day and take a dip in the clear waters of Cleopatra Beach (where the Egyptian queen reputedly swam) or cool off under the spectacular waterfall of Sapadere Canyon.

As the light dims, watch this picturesque harbour come alive – its brimming with restaurants and bars that are open until the early hours, so youll be spoilt for choice.

Beautiful Kemer

Get a fascinating insight into Turkish culture and history with a visit to the magnificent Lycian city of Phaselis that dates back to 700BC. Arranged on a peninsula surrounded by three small, perfectly calm shallow bays, makes for an idyllic spot for a rest or a splash about with the children.

For the teenagers, Dolusu Park – an extreme water park will keep the whole family entertained if you are up for some high-energy thrills! Or relax and enjoy the charms of a friendly dolphin encounter in the Dolphinarium.

Be charmed by Bodrum

Bodrum Town

According to locals there are more nightclub choices than there are beds in Bodrum and boasting one of the biggest nightclubs in Europe, we can well believe it. Luckily this doesnt diminish the enigmatic elegance of this charming harbour town, that rarely fails to impress.

Head to the cobbled paths of the city centre most mornings as any Turkish holiday wouldnt be complete without a trip to a local market or pazar – barter for the best bargains (its expected, so dont be shy) and remember getting a Turkish rug back home might not be as easy as expected.

Stylish Turkbuku

Luxury at its best, this former fishing village, known as the St Tropez of Turkey with its whitewashed village style is simply stunning and a firm favourite with locals in the know.

Emerging as a gourmet haven, Turbukus thriving food scene draws back visitors time and time again. Famed for its fresh fish, mezze and chilled white wines, eat around the harbour or join the jet-set and savour the flavours aboard as you cruise the local coves and inlets.

Turkey leaves you spoilt for choice and its so easy to get to with Jet2holidays. With reps to help you along the way, 22kg baggage included, brilliant choices of 2-5* hotels and fabulous flight times from 9 UK airports with hotel transfers included, enjoying all Turkey has to offer has never been easier.
