Stocks market update: Capital goods stocks bullish; Graphite India, ABB India surge up to 5%

NEW DELHI: Most capital goods stocks were participating actively in market rally on Thursday.

The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 1.17 per cent up at 18,566 around 02:50 pm.

Shares of Graphite India and ABB India were leading the pack of gainers in the index, rising up to 5 per cent.

Shares of Bharat Electronics, Suzlon Energy, Mahindra CIE Automotive and Lakshmi Machine Works climbed up to 4 per cnet.

Shares of V-Guard Industries, BHEL, Thermax, Reliance Naval and Engineering, Havells India and Carborundum Universal advanced up to 2 per cent.

Welspun Corp, BEML, AIA Engineering and Sadbhav Engineering moved up over 1 per cent.

Shares of Schaeffler India (up 0.94 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 0.65 per cent), Kalpataru Power Transmissions (up 0.50 per cent), Siemens (up 0.48 per cent), SKF India (up 0.35 per cent) and NBCC (India) (up 0.17 per cent) were also in the green.

However, Va Tech Wabag (down 1.51 per cent), GE T&D India (down 1.47 per cent) and Finolex Cables (down 0.30 per cent) were under pressure around the same time.

Market sentiment remained upbeat on sustained buying in all sectors amid positive global cues.

Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 372 points at 35,551, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 109 points at 10,794.

In the Sensex index, 27 stocks were up and only 4 were down.

Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors were leading among Sensex gainers.
