When it comes to baked sweet treats, not much beats the humble – but delicious – Jaffa Cake.
The circular little discs of thin chocolate, tangy jelly, and moreish cake are ideal for when you want a sweet treat, and we all know that when you start eating them, its impossible to stop!
So if youre a fan of the popular McVities biscuit, youll likely be intrigued by the news that the brand is releasing a brand new Jaffa Cake flavour – Lemon and Lime!
The zesty new flavour has been added to the popular cakes for a brand new launch. The Lemon and Lime Jaffa Cakes launched into stores at the beginning of June – and excited customers can grab a pack of 10 for just 99p.
In the past, McVities have launched similar flavours, with their Lemon and Slime, Halloween-inspired Jaffa Cake bars. But this is the first time the brand have popped them into regular Jaffa Cake form.
And while the launch is certainly fun, it seems the interesting new flavour is actually dividing fans so far.
Some fans seem thrilled by the new addition to the Jaffa Cake range, with one saying “I for one am VERY excited about it…”
However, others appeared less than happy about the new flavour, confessing that they were a little grossed out by the idea.
One customer wrote, I think they sound disgusting!, while another agreed, commenting, Ewww, and a third said, Nasty. Eek!
However, if youre keen to give them a try, you can pick them up in all major supermarkets from now.

According to them, a whopping 92% of the nation call themselves Jaffa Cake fans, and of that 35% class themselves as half-mooners, enjoying the cake in two bites.
28% of us are also all-rounders – preferring instead to nibble around the edge first and enjoy the jelly centre last. A fifth of people also said they eat the whole thing in one go – while a further 6% say they eat the jelly inside first!
