On Saturday, the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first Buckingham Palace balcony debut, at the annual Trooping the Colour event.
But while the yearly tradition is something Harry has been a part of since he was a boy, it was new royal Meghans first time attending such a high-profile royal event.
So, understandably, its no surprise that the Duchess was nervous – which she apparently admitted to being, according to one lip-reader, speaking to the Mirror.
The lip-reader, who studied the newly married couple during the balcony appearance, decoded the words they shared, revealing that Meghan confessed she was apprehensive about the appearance.
According to them, Harry was keen to check in on his new wife, asking, “Okay?” before the flypast began.
She is then said to have replied, “Yeah, are you?”, to which he responded that he was. However, it seems the former actress wasnt quite as sure of herself, then admitting hat she was “nervous.”, to her new husband. Harry appeared to understand her anxiety, replying, “Yes,”, before checking in on Meghan again, asking, “Okay?”
Adorably, Prince Harry also gave Meghan a helping hand when it came to the all-important curtsey in front of the Queen. As all the members of the royals gathered on the balcony, the Queen drove past underneath them in a carriage.
And it seems Meghan needed some reassurance on timings, quickly whispering to Harry, “Say when”, referring to when to bow to the Queen as she drove past. Some seconds later, Harry then said, “Now”, allowing Meghan to curtsey in perfect time, along with the rest of the royals.
The Duke continued to help Meghan, as the group then awaited the famous, Royal Air Force flypast. The couple first discussed an unknown subject, with Harry telling Meghan, “Errr. When you get into it, Ill tell you more later,”
He then went on to explain when the family will all be looking up at the airplane display, explaining to his new wife, “Then theres the flypast and then we all look up to the sky”, gesturing upwards.
The Trooping the Colour ceremony marks the start of a busy six months for Meghan and Harry. Its reported that the couple have lots of work engagements planned until the new year. And, Kensington Palace have also recently announced that the newlyweds will head on their first official royal tour in the autumn.
The Duke and Duchess will head to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand, in order to tie in with the 2018 Invictus Games, taking place in October in Sydney.
