The Brexit debate hasn't let up yet, with all eyes on Theresa May today and whether she will bow to pressure from pro-EU rebels in her party today as MPs debate the plans for the future customs relations with the bloc.

The Prime Minister escaped a crunch vote last night, ultimately avoiding losing any of the 15 votes on amendments sent down from the Lords – but she didn't escape unscathed.

Investors have already turned their attention away from the historic US-North Korea summit in Singapore, and are now awaiting the upcoming Federal Reserve policy decision later in the day.

Asian shares slipped back today, with MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan dipping 0.5 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei managed to edge up 0.25 per cent.

Over in Europe, London Capital Group reckons the FTSE will start the morning off rather mutedly. It's expected to open three points lower at 7,700, the German Dax is expected to open 12 points higher at 12,854, while the French Cac is predicted to open unchanged at 5,453.
