Stock market update: Capital goods index in the red; Sadbhav Engineering top loser

NEW DELHI: The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.64 per cent down at 18,513 around 02:10 pm with Sadbhav Engineering (down 2.97 per cent) as the top loser in the index.

Shares of Bharat Electronics (down 2.93 per cent), BHEL (down 2.75 per cent), NBCC (India) (down 2.69 per cent), Havells India (down 2.37 per cent), GE T&D India (down 1.42 per cent), Carborundum Universal (down 1.05 per cent) and SKF India (down 1 per cent) were also among the top losers in the index.

Shares of Finolex Cables, Siemens, Larsen & Toubro, ABB India, Kalpataru Power Transmissions, Va Tech Wabag, Suzlon Energy, Welspun Corp, Lakshmi Machine Works and CG Power and Industrial Solutions were also under pressure.

On the other hand, AIA Engineering (up 2.04 per cent), Mahindra CIE Automotive (up 2.01 per cent), V-Guard Industries (up 1.61 per cent), Thermax (up 1 per cent), Schaeffler India (up 0.62 per cent), BEML (up 0.40 per cent) and Graphite India (up 0.10 per cent) were in the green in the index.

Benchmark BSE Sensex was 151 points down at 35,588, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 58 points at 10,799.

ICICI Bank, TCS, Adani Ports and State Bank of India were among the top losers in the Sensex index.
