Prince William is just weeks away from his historic official tour to the Middle East. The Duke of Cambridge will become the first royal family ever to undertake an official visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Prince Williams trip, which the royal family hope will strengthen the, links that exist not only between the two countries, but also those that exist between their respective Royal families will see the Duke of Cambridge shed light on the culture and people of the places he visits.

During the strictly non-political tour, Prince William will visit spectacular archaeological sites, spend time with charities helping young people and refugees, pay his respects at Israels official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and take opportunities to celebrate Palestinian culture, music and food.

Specially included in Prince Williams busy schedule and carefully planned itinerary are two stops that are incredibly sentimental for the Duke of Cambridge, and allow him to pay homage to both his family history and his wife Catherines.

On the second day of the tour, Prince William is taking time to visit the archaeological site at Jerash, which is the site of one of the largest Roman remains anywhere in the Mediterranean region.

In a statement confirming the details of the Dukes visit to the popular tourist spot, Kensington Palace specifically pointed out that Prince William will be making a stop at a place from the Duchess of Cambridges childhood.

It is, by the way, the site where the young Catherine Middleton is pictured standing on a pile of stones with her father and young sister when the Middleton family lived in Jordan the Palace revealed.

The Duchess of Cambridge moved with the Middleton family to Amman in Jordan in May 1984, when she was just two, because of her fathers work. Catherine attended a nursery school in Amman from the age of three, before her family returned home to the UK in 1986.

As Kate is unable to join William on his historic trip because she is currently on maternity leave after the birth of their third child, Prince Louis, the special visit to the site at Jerash is sure to remind the Duke of Cambridge of his wife and family back in London.

In his second sentimental stop on the tour, the Duke of Cambridge will visit the Church of St Mary Magdalene near the Mount of Olives, where he will, pay his respects at the tomb of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice.

Both The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales have made previous visits to the poignant location, with the Duke of Cambridge sure to feel the significance of being the third generation to pay his respects at the tomb during his visit.

The Duke of Cambridge is expected to fly back to the UK at the end of his tour on June 28th.
