We were all heartbroken when Gethin Jones and Katherine Jenkins announced their shock break up in 2011.
But while the former pair have never revealed the real reason behind their split, it looks like Gethins sister Mererid may have just let slip the strange truth…
It all started when Mererid phoned his Hits Radio show on Monday to chat about her famous brothers dating history.
When asked by co-host Dave Vitty if she thought Gethin had an image of perfection in his head that he can never really achieve, she said: “I think so, yes. They have to tick every single box.”
She then went on to add: “If theres one tiny thing wrong like the middle toes longer than their big toe he goes off on one.”
Clearly feeling a little embarrassed about the chat, Gethin then said: “I am starting to feel really uncomfortable with this conversation.”
Obviously, while theres been no reason to think the pair actually broke up over classical singer Katherines feet, her middle toe does appear to be longer than her big one in some photos. Interesting…
The pair met in 2007 when Gethin was a presenter on Blue Peter and she was a guest on the show.
After dating for four years, they called it quits in 2011 and Katherine has since claimed it was Gethins decision.
“When Gethin and I broke up… two weeks later I had to go on a UK tour…”, she told The Mirror at the time.
“Every day just trying to find the energy to cope let alone going on stage and understand his reason for doing it.
“Meanwhile everybody else is under the impression it was my decision, my ambition, I wanted to take over the world. It was so far from the truth”.
Luckily, Welsh beauty Katherine has now found love with artist and film director Andrew Levitas who she married in 2014.
The pair have since welcomed two-year-old Aaliyah in 2015, and two-month-old Xander in April.
