Paddy McGuinness has spoken of his shock at learning he has arthritis at 44 years of age.
The Take Me Out host shared the news with his Instagram fans on Tuesday as he explained that hed had to have an injection in his shoulder and took a selfie to show off the plaster.
“Morning! Nursing a poorly shoulder today,” Paddy captioned the post.
“I had an ultra sound steroid injection in it yesterday. The reason, arthritis? Im 44! #knackered #shoulderfrigged”
Poor Paddy! Arthritis is typically associated with older people but can often develop in adults who are in their 40s or 50s. It can also affect people of all ages.
The condition causes joint pain, tenderness and stiffness as well as inflammation and restricted movement around the joint amongst other symptoms.
Around 10million people in the UK have arthritis, according to NHS Choices.
Many fans expressed their sympathy for Paddy following the news, with one commenting: “Awww bless you paddy the joys off getting old eh lol hope you well soon tho”
“Get better soon Paddy take it easy take care to,” another wrote.
It comes just days after Paddy took part in charity football match Soccer Aid and some of his famous teammates have got in touch about his health update.
Jamie Redknapp wrote on the presenters post: “Still looking good though pal . See you Friday big man.”
Olly Murs was feeling a bit cheeky though and quipped about Paddys injury: “Wow its your right arm aswell! stop using that arm so much ”
Paddy then fired back at the singer: “never!!!!”
The TV stars honest confession comes after he revealed that hes hoping to launch a new series about his life as a father of autistic children.
Paddy and wife Christine are parents to four-year-old twins Leo and Penelope – who both have the condition – and one-year-old Felicity, who has also showed signs of autism.
Speaking to John Bishop on his In Conversation series, the dad-of-three explained: “Im just working on it at the minute, Im going to be doing a programme about it, because I feel that strongly about it.”
