Lorraine Kelly received heaps of praise last year when she spoke frankly about battling the menopause.
And, in Wednesday mornings installment of her namesake ITV breakfast show, Lorraine spoke honestly once more to the shows Dr Hilary about suffering from anxiety and how exercise has not only transformed her figure but has also helped her mind, as she launches a new body confidence series called Work It Out.
Like so many people, I found excuses not to commit to a regular exercise routine. But after finding exercise I really enjoy, and going to Maxines classes regularly, I feel better not only physically but mentally too, Lorraine confessed to Dr Hilary.
We were talking last year about the menopause and how difficult that can be for everybody, I did get quite anxious… and it really helps with that, the 58-year-old explained. Adding: Its like Ive had a spring clean in my head. Its like being re-set, it really is.
Dr Hilary praised Lorraine for her frank confession, and revealed that both anxiety and depression can be side effects that are often over looked during the menopause.
But Lorraine feels as though it is nothing to be ashamed of, with the presenter admitting: It happens to everyone and I dont think anybody should feel ashamed in any way. Sometimes I feel completely overwhelmed. Im better now, I have got HRT and I swear by it, I know its not for everybody.
Lorraine has completely overhauled her lifestyle by enjoying regular exercise with her friend and personal trainer Maxine Jones, which has resulted in the mum-of-one dropping a seriously impressive three dress sizes.
Working out has helped me drop three dress sizes and changed my life in an important way, Lorraine revealed. I walk miles with Angus and thats good for the soul, it really is. I dont know what it is about having a small dog. You can make that time. Just take that step. Just find something you love.
That sounds like good advice to us, Lorraine.
