Amanda Holden has posted a shocking video to her Twitter account of security footage of an attempted burglary, which took place in broad daylight.
The terrifying video, captured not far from Amandas Richmond home, showed four men disembark from motorbikes on a side road. Some seconds later, two of them disappear. Later, the remaining two target a mother and child walking along the main road, and appear to attempt to mug them.
The understandably horrified mother quickly drags herself and her child into the road and away from the men, before alerting passersby.
At the end of the clip, some men in a lorry notice whats happening, and proceed to chase after the moped gang with what appear to be scaffolding poles.
Amanda tweeted alongside the video, appealing for witnesses to come forward if they know who the criminals are. She wrote, So this I know is happening everywhere but this was Sandpits Road Tw10 -21st June 12;35 broad daylight. Mother and child attached. And some #Heroes in a lorry chased them off. Call 101 or 999 if u know these scumbags..

Scotland Yard have since confirmed to the Evening Standard that the gang asked the mother to hand over her jewellery, before being deterred by her reaction.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has since provided a statement on the details of the incident.
They said, “Police were called at 12.35pm on Thursday, June 21 to Sandpits Road in Petersham after a woman was approached by four men on a black moped and motorbike who demanded her jewellery.

“They threatened her and a young child who was with her. No injuries were reported. No weapon was seen, although it was intimated. Members of the public went to the womans assistance and the suspects fled empty handed.”
Amandas followers were left in shock by the video of the horrifying incident, commenting to share how scary it was.
One wrote, Its disgraceful how things like this have become almost an everyday occurrence. Another also said, To think you cant even do a simple thing like walk with your child down the street, I hope they get caught.
The occurrence is of course sadly one of many happening around the UK now. The Metropolitan police have reported that in London alone, moped crime has risen from 1,053 in 2014, to 4,647 in 2015. Between June 2016 and June 2017 – a huge 16,158 were recorded.
