FOOD FOR THOUGHT: This handy travel hack will help you on your next flight

Plane food has a reputation for being very unpleasant.

Unless you have a few thousand pounds to splash on business class or higher, the meals are generally bland and rather unappetising.

So youll probably be pleased to know that there is a way to make the in-flight menu much more appealing.

Airline food: First Class vs Economy

Ever wondered how the other half live in First Class or Economy? Here are the differences between the airline meals. Airline food: First Class vs Economy Instagram Airline food: First Class vs Economy

Celebrity chef Jason Atherton revealed that you should always keep a bottle of Tabasco sauce handy.

Apparently, Jude Law was the one who told him that the fiery condiment can add some flavour to mile high meals.

The professional cook told Live Mint: "It was Law who told me to always take Tabasco on a plane. Airplane food is always bland, so its great to give it kick.

"But I just try my hardest not to eat on planes (at all). I can normally do it up to about 12 hours.

“If I go to Australia, I have to eat, obviously, because its 24 hours on a plane for me.

"I just eat the protein, drowned in Tabasco, which tastes OK – well, it tastes of Tabasco, to be honest."

If spicy food isnt for you, there are other ways to get around the gross food issue.

Packing your own delicious lunch, or snapping up something at the airport, may save you some trouble.

Always choose options that are less likely to deteriorate if they are left out of the fridge.

And its also worth noting that you should check any liquids are below the hand luggage allowance before your try to get through security.

This Instagram account is shaming terrible plane passengers

Popular Instagram account @passengershaming, is documenting these cases of disgusting on-board behaviour – from slipping stinky feet between seats to disrobing down the aisles.
