Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has been enjoying more time with her family since quitting Weatherfield earlier this month.
But despite having free time on her hands, the former soap star has now opened up about the struggles of parenting after she got in a spot of bother with her three-year-old son Alfie over the weekend.
As the mum and son headed out for a road trip, it looks like the tot had a call from nature and found himself desperate for the loo. Unfortunately, the only place Alfie could find to relieve himself was in the actress handbag!
And to make things even messier, when they finally arrived home the poor toddler was then sick in Catherines clean sheets.
Speaking about the stressful day on Twitter, Catherine joked she was dying for a drink as she said: “After my toddler peeing in my handbag on the M6… we came home, made nice clean beds… he vomited Im both… #mumlife #sendhelp #andgin.”
And the 34-year-olds followers were quick to reply, as one said: “On the plus side Cath, youve got a great story for his 18th birthday party! Hope hes better soon.”
“Oh dear Cath ….. not a good day …… hope the gin may have helped a bit & today is going better”, wrote another.
While a third simply added: “Aww hopes hes better soon”.
This comes after Corrie star Catherine admitted she was leaving her role as Eva on the ITV soap to spend more time Alfie and husband Tom Pitford.
“It wasnt something I took lightly”, she told OK! magazine.
“I live ten minutes away from the studio, my friends work there and its a secure job, but you only get one life and I want to work on other projects.
“I want to travel and see my son more. I knew Id made the right decision because I felt excited. Leaving was the right decision for me and my family.”
