If you speak Welsh, you might be able to do better than packing up your things and finding a cheap place in a touristy area in Spain.

A once in a lifetime job opportunity has opened up for a couple whod be up for living off-grid on a remote island off the coast of north Wales.

Thats Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli), which has been looked after by Siân Stacey and her partner Mark Cater for the last three years.

Siân and Mark are now leaving their post, which means the jobs of warden of the island and assistant warden are now open.

A young couple is being offered a chance to live on their own real-life "love island" - a remote beauty spot two miles off the British coast. The lucky castaways will be given a two-bedroom cottage lovenest and ?24,500-a-year in the "life-changing opportunity" on Bardsey Island. The pair will take over from Sian Stacey and boyfriend Mark Carter who have lived on the island off the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales for three years. Pictured here is Bardsey Island. We must warn you: The pay isnt spectacular. The jobs are described as incredibly challenging, and the warden role pays £16,500 a year while the assistant warden gets £8,000 a year.

Included in that salary, however, is a two bedroom home with utility bills included, so you wouldnt have to worry about rent.

Plus you get the delightful location of a dreamy remote island.

The jobs roles includes recruiting and managing volunteers to help look after the island, looking after the nature reserves sea birds and seals, and being an active part of the community.

As we mentioned, youll need to speak Welsh, too, and competition for the gig may be fierce – last time the opportunity came up it attracted more than 300 applicants.

Rod Gritten, Chair of Bardsey Island Trust, said: We are sad that our current manager, Siân Stacey, is leaving us after three years in the post.

She has provided Enlli with the enthusiasm and hard work that this type of post needs.

We will also miss her partner, Mark Carter, who has worked tirelessly in assisting her in the role.

The ex-warden Siân added: This job can be incredibly challenging, and requires a lot of determination and passion, but it is the most rewarding work Ive ever done.

Its been great to be part of the island community, working with the help of volunteers to ensure Enlli remains the unique place it is whilst improving the experience for guests and visitors.

I will really miss falling asleep to the sound of Manx Shearwaters overhead and waking to the sound of seals singing in the bays.
